Strength and Durability Excellence in EPDM EPDM, also referred to as a rubber roof, has a proven track record and is a dimensionally stable membrane. EPDM is a single-ply membrane system that expands and contracts yet retains its structural memory. The membrane also has excellent weather resistance and is an outstanding second-generation roof-over application. Strength & Durability - Lightweight and easy-to-maintain; withstands temperature changes - Resistant to standing water, mold and mildew - Dimensionally stable yet expands and contracts with building movement (300% elongation capability with 100% memory) - Carbon black additives in the sheet provide superior UV resistance Versatility - Available in 45, 60, 90 or 120 mil thickness - Available with or without reinforcing scrim 1. Fasteners and plates Application Methods - Mechanically Fastened: This system is installed by utilizing mechanical fasteners that secure the insulation and membrane to the structural deck. - Fully Adhered: This system is applied by bonding the membrane directly to an affixed insulation board or other roofing membrane substrate. 2 1 - Ballasted: This system is installed using large sheets and rock ballast to 2 1 hold the membrane in place. This roof system can be the most cost- effective due to the ease and speed of installation. 3 3. Insulation 4. Roof deck 4 1.
